    Heartland Alliance’s Rainbow Welcome Initiative supports the resettlement of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender (LGBT) refugees and asylees by offering technical assistance to service providers and disseminating critical resources relevant to both resettlement staff and refugees and asylees. The Rainbow Welcome Initiative is committed to ensuring the successful integration of LGBT refugees and asylees as they establish new lives in this country and pursue new possibilities.

  • PARA EL FOMENTO DE LUGARES SEGUROS Y COMUNIDADES SOLIDARIAS

    La iniciativa Rainbow Welcome de Heartland Alliance apoya el reasentamiento de refugiados y asilados homosexuales (hombres y mujeres), bisexuales y/o transexuales (LGBT) ofreciendo asistencia técnica a proveedores de servicios y diseminando información sobre recursos esenciales entre el personal de reasentamiento y los refugiados y asilados. La iniciativa Rainbow Welcome se compromete a asegurar el éxito en la integración total de los refugiados y asilados LGBT para que puedan comenzar una vida nueva y aspirar a nuevas posibilidades en este país.

    L'initiative Rainbow Welcome de l'organisme Heartland Alliance soutient la réinstallation des réfugiés et des asilés lesbiennes, gais, bisexuels et/ou transsexuels (LGBT) en offrant une assistance technique aux prestataires de services et en disséminant des ressources cruciales pertinentes à la fois au personnel chargé de la réinstallation ainsi qu'aux réfugiés et aux asilés. L'initiative Rainbow Welcome s'engage à assurer l'intégration réussie des réfugiés et des asilés LGBT alors qu'ils établissent de nouvelles vies dans ce pays tout en poursuivant de nouvelles possibilités.

    تكوين مساحات آمنة ومجتمعات داعمة

    تدعم مبادرة ترحيب قوس قزح ، من تحالف هارت لاند، إعادة توطين اللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء من المثليات جنسياً، وأحاديي الجنس (اللواطيين)، وثنائيي الجنس، و/أو  مغايري الجنس(LGBT) ؛ وذلك بتقديم المساعدة الفنية لمقدمي الخدمة، ونشر الموارد الضرورية ذات الصلة بكل من موظفي إعادة التوطين واللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء. تلتزم مبادرة ترحيب قوس قزح بضمان الاندماج الناجح للاجئين وطالبي اللجوء من الــ LGBT ، حيث أنهم يؤسسون حياة جديدة في هذا البلد، ويسعون من أجل إمكانيات جديدة.

Heartland Alliance is excited to partner with six refugee resettlement agencies throughout the country on the Rainbow Welcome Initiative. Heartland Alliance, along with these local affiliates, will develop and implement best practices for working with LGBT refugees and asylees. MORE »

Rainbow Welcome Initiative

Hosts Regional Trainings

The Rainbow Welcome Initiative will host four regional trainings during the month of March. These three-day sessions, geared to service providers who work with refugees, immigrants, or asylees, will cover issues of sexuality and gender, while examining the role they play in the resettlement process. Caseworkers, employee counselors, teachers, health practitioners, and others will all benefit from this interactive training as we introduce fundamental concepts and terminology of the LGBT community and explore strategies to adjust services and respond to the particular needs of this population. Obama Administration Dedicated to Advancing Human Rights of LGBT Individuals

On December 6, 2011, President Barack Obama released a statement announcing the administration’s international initiatives to advance the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons. The memorandum declared a commitment to protect the human rights of LGBT individuals worldwide.  In a statement to the United Nations, Obama affirmed that "no country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere."
